Trend Alert: Kitchen Appliances of the Future Are Headed Back in Time -- The 2017 Kitchen

As part of our series of posts predicting the direction kitchen design will take in 2017, we're taking a close look at appliances in particular. As part of a general trend towards kitchens with a more storied, old-world look, we're seeing the rise of what I like to call 'statement appliances' -- ovens and refrigerators and range hoods that either are vintage (or look vintage) and fixtures that, instead of attempting to blend in, draw the eye and become a focal point of the kitchen.
